Hello again everyone. We hope you’re having a fantastic Summer of 2016 here at the Delaware beaches, enjoying all of the amenities, special events and general warm weather fun that our area is known for.
Unbelievably, it’s already the middle of July and we’re in the heart of the summer season. So far, it’s been a great coastal Delaware summer filled with lots of fun in the sun and great events and happenings.
The southern Delaware festival season is only going to pick up from here as we get closer to the September-November “high season” for annual events and happenings at or near the beach. But there certainly is a lot going on in the warm summer months as well.
We’ll get to our featured gatherings here in a minute, but we’d also like to remind you of a few things going on in the area on a regular basis this summer. These include:
- Area Farmer’s Markets. Pretty much every town has one and they are spread out over different days of the week to allow farmers and producers a chance to be at several. If you don’t know what day of the week yours is scheduled for, contact your local Chamber of Commerce, or check on their website.
- State Parks Programs. Our state parks here in southern Delaware always have a wide array of events scheduled for young and old alike during the summer. Examples include kayak tours at Trap Pond, bike tours at Cape Henlopen and more programs at Delaware Seashore State Park than we can possibly mention here in this blog. Check the respective websites for more information.
- Local Theater Shows. This week features “Chicago” at Clear Space Theater, a special psychic show at the Milton Theater and a couple of great shows at the Freeman Stage.
- Local Museums. There are always great things going on at our local museums during the summer. So visit Zwaanendael, the Rehoboth Beach Museum, the DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum or your favorite today.
The bottom line – there’s certainly no shortage of fun and exciting things to do during the summertime here in coastal Delaware. So get out there and enjoy whatever it is that grabs your attention.
