Outdoor Concerts Making a Triumphant Return for the Summer of 2021 at the Delaware and Maryland Beaches!
The Summer of 2021 is almost here and we're excited to announce that outdoor concerts are making a big comeback this year!
A few venues persevered as best they could last year during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, but this year signifies a big return to one of the best things about the summer in Delaware and Maryland's coastal region.
We have many venues to tell you about this year, some of which you've probably enjoyed or at least heard about before, as well as a couple that might be new to you.
It's a big list and a number of venues, so settle in and look for the ones that appeal to you and your loved ones. Then plan for a great summer here in the coastal region!
We have a lot to tell you about today, so let's get started...
Rehoboth Beach Bandstand (Rehoboth Beach)
If you're in the "Nation's Summer Capital" Fridays to Sundays this summer, be sure to visit the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand at the end of Rehoboth Avenue for a full slate of summertime shows.
These shows are all free to the public and provide a great atmosphere for any beach visit.
Mike Hines & The Look kicks off the 2021 summer season with a show on Friday, June 11, at 8 p.m.
Other notable acts appearing over the next few months include Love Seed Mama Jump on June 18, The Big House Band on June 20, the U.S. Air Force Band Singing Sergeants on June 25, The Reflex on June 26, the Funsters on July 3, the United States Navy Concert Band on July 4, The Fabulous Greaseband on July 16, the U.S. Navy Cruisers on August 20 and the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors on August 28.
Visit www.rehobothbandstand.com/events for the full 2021 schedule.
Bethany Beach Bandstand
A little further south in the "Quiet Resort" of Bethany Beach, there's also a full slate of summertime concerts planned for the next few months, beginning with a performance from The Uptown Band on Thursday, June 10.
Shows during the summer months begin at 7:30 p.m., with shows starting an hour earlier once the calendar turns to fall.
You can see the full schedule below, but a few of the highlights include Real Diamond on July 15, High Noon on August 19, Folsom Prison Revival on September 4 and Lower Case Blues on October 9.
Grain on the Rocks (Lewes)
The Lewes Ferry Terminal will be the site for another great summer of outdoor concerts, building on the popularity of last year's series.
Shows will be held every Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., beginning on June 24 with a performance by Betty and the Bullet.
The final show of the year will be on September 9, when Joey Harkum closes out the 2021 season. Highlights of the season include Pressing Strings on July 8, Jocelyn & Chris on July 29 and the Amish Outlaws on August 19.
Unlike the previous two venues on our list, shows at the ferry terminal are not free and tickets are sold in a pod format, at least for the beginning of the season. Prices range from $40 to $80 per pod.
Visit www.meetatgrain.com for the full schedule, additional information and/or to purchase tickets.

Musical acts include country bands, rock bands, tribute bands and oldies bands, with various free activities and entertainment options available at the park for both adults and children.
And of course Sundaes in the Park wouldn't be complete without all the yummy ice cream!

Milton Theatre Quayside (Milton)
The quayside area outside the Milton Theatre will again be showcasing a number of great acts during the upcoming summer, in addition to a full schedule inside the theatre.

Hudson Fields (Milton)
The Hudson Fields complex near Milton hosts a number of events throughout the year, including the Winter Wonderfest every year around Christmastime.
Shows are still being developed for 2021, with the hopes that the coronavirus pandemic will soon be in the rearview mirror.
Stayed tuned to hudsonfields.com for more upcoming shows. But the one we do know about thus far for 2021 is the Bettie James Fest in early August (see image below).
Keep visiting theoldfathergroup.com for much more on what's coming up during 2021 and beyond here at the Delaware and Maryland beaches, as well as in the rest of Delaware, southeastern Pennsylvania and Maryland's capital region of Annapolis.
