Why Do Good Coaches Fire Clients?
You may be reading this blog the day it's published or it may be sometime well into the future. But for our opening reference to today's entry, you must understand that today is Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
And with that quick revelation, we give you the following:
"Always two there are, no more, no less. A master and an apprentice."
Okay, so many of you probably get it while some are confused at this point. A quick clarification is probably in order.
Today's Oldfather Group blog is centered around the experience (either good or bad) you can have when hiring and working with a professional business coach. And since today is Star Wars Day (May The Fourth Be With You!), we thought we'd have a little fun with the world's shortest and most lovable master, the incomparable Yoda himself!
But all fun aside, let's get down to business.
If you put in the time and the effort to locate and hire a reputable coach, either for personal or professional use, you should definitely listen to and follow through on what he or she tells you to do.
This stands to reason, right? But so many people simply don't do this, which leads to great frustration and often even broken relationships along the way.

Spending time with an experienced coach and mentor is an invaluable tool for growing your business. We have some of the best coaches in the world here at the Oldfather Group and we feel extremely fortunate to warrant even a few minutes of their valuable time on a regular basis.
But we also take heed and listen to what our coaches tell us. We pay them good money and we fully understand that they know exactly what they're talking about.
They've been where we are and they know how to take us where we want to be. So we listen and we follow their advice, which works out well for us pretty much each and every time.
But many people don't do this, which leads to frustration and disappointment for the coach. Coaching is a two-way street and if you're not listening to what you're being told, trust us when we say there are many people who would love to take your place in the rotation.
Coaches want to see you succeed and when you don't follow their advice and instead fail, it leads to hurt feelings and a lot of disappointment and sometimes even resentment.
You're paying your coaches for their insight and wisdom, so listen to what they have to say and follow through! If you can't do that, then either you or the coach himself needs to cut the cord. And probably will!
The world's best coaches can provide you with invaluable tools and expert advice, but there's one thing they can't do. And that's make success happen for you; you have to do that for yourself!

Find a coach who can help you get where you want to go. And never, ever take them for granted.
