Living in Ocean City
At the southern end of the city is the resort's main parking area, which is also the beginning of the city's 2.5-mile-long boardwalk. The boardwalk is home to many of the resort's most well-known food choices, including such mainstays as Fisher's Popcorn and Thrasher's French Fries, to the popular Dumser's Dairyland and many, many more. Along with the Jolly Roger, this park still attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.
Ocean City real estate has also become a haven for fishing in recent years, leading to its moniker as the "White Marlin Capital of the World." Ocean City, MD Inlet
The Ocean City, MD Inlet was formed when a hurricane swept through the Delmarva Peninsula in the 1930s and today defines the southern end of Maryland’s premier coastal resort.
The inlet separates the excitement of Ocean City from the much more serene and isolated Assateague Island, known for its wild ponies and quiet nature. The inlet is also the location of Ocean City’s main parking area and where many of the resort’s activities are located, at the southern end of the city’s famous Boardwalk.
If you’re coming into the city from Route 50, turn due south on Coastal Highway and you will dead-end at the inlet. If you’re coming into the resort on Route 1 from Delaware, follow Coastal Highway all the way south until you hit the inlet parking area.
