World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition
The Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition and Arts Festival is an international event that draws carvers, collectors and visitors to the resort every April.
More than 1,000 carvings are generally on display during the festival, which is held in conjunction with the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art in Salisbury.
More than $50,000 in prize money is awarded each year in several different categories, with the winner of the main competition winning the title of “world champion.” The three-day event is the world’s largest such gathering and is the longest running wildfowl carving competition in the world.
